The artist poses as the girl in Frederic Leighton’s Lieder Ohne Worte (Song Without Words), extracting herself as the model in a way to take control of her own self-image. Inspired by Marina Abramović’s The Artist is Present, Kate wears red to state that the female present is the artist and the model is absent.
